Coolfleece or Hydrogel
Regarding hydrogel, the active polymer, which provides the cooling effect, is located between two layers of polyester. After contact with water, the polymer grains turn into a gel: hydrogel . Hydrogel cools for a longer period of time, up to 72 hours in a vest, and contains the unique and patented 2-in-1 cooling principle; evaporation or ice. Cooling by evaporation cools down 5-10⁰C when compared to surrounding temperature. When additional cooling is required you can place the hydrogel products in the fridge to provide ten minutes of extra intense cooling. After these ten minutes the hydrogel products cool regularly by evaporation again. If even more intense cooling is required the hydrogel products can be put in the freezer (fabrics should be dry first in order to not to freeze together) to provide up to three hours of additional intense cooling as the hydrogel has turned into ice and will melt. After these hours the hydrogel products cool regularly by evaporation.
Regarding fleece, or CoolFleece, the polymer is supported by the fleece material. The advantage is that it is weighs little and can be activated within just one minute. On top, the specific gloss finish of the polyester adds an additional cooling experience. The cooling duration of a fleece vest can be up to 8 hours, the cooling duration of the accessories can be up to 3 hours. Cooling by CoolFleece will make a difference of 5-10⁰C when compared to surrounding temperature.
